| Businesses and organizations that are part of the HERO program allow and encourage their employees to donate platelets at least once a month. HERO partners give their employees an opportunity to be a part of a community-wide effort to maintain a safe and available platelet supply. There are many levels of participation for you to choose from. See which one fits your organization the best and become a HERO today!
• PLATINUM SPONSOR
Your company or organization would sponsor a donor bed (the chair a person lays in when they are giving a donation) for a month, keeping it booked with donors during the slow times of the day, noon through 4 p.m. For this type of sponsorship, we will need two people a day, five days a week for four weeks. This would be around 40 Donors during the month. You can choose to do this once a quarter or as often as you like per year.
• GOLD SPONSOR
Your company or organization would allow two employees/volunteers to schedule appointments together during the slow times of the day, noon through 4 p.m. at least once a month. This would be a minimum of 24 appointments in a year.
• SILVER SPONSOR
Your company or organization would allow at least one employee/volunteer per month to make a platelet appointment during the slow times of the day, noon through 4 p.m. That would be 12 appointments per year.
• BRONZE SPONSOR
Your company or organization would award four hours “comp time” to employees/volunteers who donate platelets on their own time. For this category, you would need a minimum of 12 such donors per year.
• CUSTOM DESIGNED SPONSOR
Your company or organization would work directly with an aphaeresis donor recruitment representative to design a HERO Program that best meet the needs and goals of your organization. Some businesses choose to set a goal towards reaching a certain number of donations for the year.
