		VIP LifeSavers   Thank you for being a blood donor. We recognize you as someone very important to the hospital patients served by the American Red Cross and want you to receive the special recognition you deserve. We are offering you the opportunity to become a VIP LifeSaver, a dedicated group of blood and platelet donors who commit in advance to a total number of blood or platelet donations each year.   When you achieve your commitment, you will be honored with a VIP gift from the Red Cross. At the end of the year, we will send a VIP LifeSaver commemorative T-shirt and lapel pin to you, indicating fulfillment of your commitment: Blood Donor Commitment Gold Level (5 to 6 donations) Silver Level (3 to 4 donations) Platelet Donor Commitment* Gold Level (13 to 24 donations) Silver Level (9 to 12 donations) If everyone who gives blood now would give just one more donation in a year, it would help prevent blood shortages. The chance of patients having to postpone elective or non-emergency surgeries would lessen.
