(Friday, Jan. 29, 2005) ATLANTA - All donor centers in Athens, Gainesville and Metro Atlanta and some blood drives will be closed on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005 due to the potentially significant sleet/ice storm that is expected to reach northern Georgia late Friday night and early Saturday morning. Conditions are expected to improve on Sunday.
The Southern Region is currently experiencing a severe blood shortage and to help replenish the community’s blood supply, all donor centers in Athens and Metro Atlanta will be open on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005. Below is a list of donor centers and their hours of operation for Sunday. Click here to find the address of the donor center nearest you.

10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Metro Atlanta
(Alpharetta, Duluth, Dunwoody/Sandy Springs, East Point, Marietta, Midtown and Stockbridge)
8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

If you cannot donate on Sunday, please make a date to donate sometime during the week.
Most healthy people age 17 or older, who weigh at least 110 pounds, can donate blood.
