FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Through May 30, 2006

CHICK-FIL-A AND THE AMERICAN RED CROSS JOIN TOGETHER             TO HELP SAVE LIVES THIS MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

ATLANTA – The employees at the American Red Cross could discuss the need for blood until the cows come home. With Chick-fil-A on board to help encourage people to donate blood and platelets this Memorial Day weekend, the Red Cross is planning on letting the cows do all the talking. All participants at select blood drives and donor centers will receive a vintage American Red Cross umbrella and a coupon for a FREE Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich.

Holiday weekends are especially tough for the American Red Cross because schools, which account for 15 percent of donations, are out and people are on vacation. In addition, many companies and community groups who hold blood drives with the Red Cross are closed. Most healthy people age 17 or older, who weigh at least 110 pounds, can donate. For more information or to make an appointment, please call the American Red Cross at 1-800-GIVE-LIFE (448-3543) or log on to www.givebloodredcross.org.

Please donate at one of the following locations.
