Emory University Launches "Save A Life" Partnership Program With American Red Cross

American Red Cross and Emory launch partnership program

(January 26, 2007, ATLANTA)
 – Emory University, Emory Healthcare and the American Red Cross officially launched the "Save A Life" Partnership Program on the university’s Decatur campus on January 24, 2007. The yearlong initiative, which began September 1, 2006, encourages members of the Emory community to donate 1,500 pints of blood by August 31, 2007. Twenty-four blood drive coordinators representing academic, healthcare, and select university departments will lead the system-wide effort which aims to support the blood needs of the local community through partnership with the American Red Cross. A total of 576 pints of blood already have been collected. Emory hopes to make lifelong donors of as many of its community members as possible by spreading the word that donating blood makes a difference and every donation counts.
