Administrative Workers assist with clerical and general office duties
Donors give blood and blood products to supply 54 hospitals and transfusion centers across the state
Drivers transport blood 24 hours a day, seven days a week to sites across the state
Receptionists answer telephones and greet and direct donors and visitors


Development

Committee Members provide volunteer leadership for the Development department and support departmental efforts by networking and raising funds
Fundraisers solicit donations and promote seasonal fundraiser's as appropriate

Caseworkers provide emergency communication between active duty military and their families during daytime hours and on call after-hours and on weekends. PR: RC Orientation, Red Cross casework training
Chairman schedules caseworkers to be on call, ensures all casework is turned into the office and enters data in the computer for statistics. PR: RC Orientation and casework training
Project Video Connect Coordinator schedules use of the VIDI machine with individuals and at businesses, and coordinates volunteers for VIDI events. PR: RC Orientation and VIDI training
Project Video Connect Technicians help family members film short video messages to send to their servicepersons via Internet
Training Coordinator schedules courses for and coordinates instructors for volunteer training

Community disaster education (CDE) Coordinators schedule speakers for presentations as requested
Damage Assessment Workers evaluate damage to property after a disaster. PR: RC Orientation, Intro to Disaster Services, Damage Assessment.
Disaster Action Teams (DAT) Members are available on call to respond to disasters, including natural disasters, house fires, hazardous materials spills Must be willing to be on call for a short period of time. PR: RC Orientation, Intro to Disaster Services, Family Services and DAT Orientation
Disaster Health Services Workers give aid in shelters. PR: RC Orientation, Intro to Disaster Services, Disaster Health Services Overview
Disaster Mental Health Workers monitor the emotional well-being of disaster workers, victims and volunteers. PR: RC Orientation, Intro to Disaster Services, other required Disaster courses
Disaster Services Human Resources (DSHR) Workers serve in the various emergency positions listed and may travel throughout the United States helping with national disasters. PR: RC Orientation, Intro to Disaster Services, other courses corresponding with position desired
Educators/Public Speakers give presentations or attend community fairs as requested to educate the public about threats and how to respond to them. This might also include hazard analysis and mitigation for specific geographic areas. A special curriculum called Masters of Disasters is used to teach children and youth in grades K-12
Emergency Operations Liaisons work in the Emergency Operations center and provide communication between Red Cross and other agencies. PR: RC Orientation, Intro to Disaster Services, Emergency Operations Liaison
Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) Drivers use the ERV as a mobile office and feeding kitchen to bring supplies to disaster workers and victims. PR: RC Orientation, Intro to Disaster Services, Mass Care Overview and ERV training
Family Services Workers provide emergency financial assistance to disaster victims. PR: RC Orientation, Intro to Disaster Services, Family Services
Interpreters work in shelters and at disaster scenes, to assist in communicating with non-English speakers, particularly the Spanish-speaking community
Leads oversee function of and volunteers for various areas of disaster specialization, such as mass care, family services or mental health
Mass Care Workers feed and care for evacuees or assist with feeding of support agencies during large fires or other disasters. PR: RC Orientation, Intro to Disaster Services, Mass Care Overview
Preparedness Workers help prepare for disasters by doing things like surveying facilities for shelter use, inventory of supplies, stocking shelter kits, working on capacity building projects, recruiting DAT volunteers
Shelter Managers are responsible for daily shelter functions during a disaster. PR: required RC training classes, including RC Orientation, Introduction to Disaster Services, Mass Care Overview, Shelter Operations
Special Projects Coordinators develop their own projects or work in specific areas of their choice such as public relations or grant writing

Administrative Workers assist with general office duties including mailings, data entry, filing, and updating computer files
Family Caregiving Leader teaches various segments of the Family Caregiving course to people in the community
Family Caregiving Trainer trains people within various agencies to teach the Family Caregiving course. PR: RC Orientation, one-on-one training, Fundamentals of Instruction
Instructors teach community courses like CPR, first aid, water safety, and babysitting
Presenters speak at area businesses to inform them about the training Red Cross offers
Receptionists greet and direct visitors, collect course payments and assist with general office duties
Red Cross Club Coordinator helps to promote, form and sustain Red Cross Clubs among area youth
Special Project Coordinator provides administrative support for the Family Caregiving program by creating a database of contact organizations, creating and mailing packages, and tracking mailings for follow-up
Trainer trains people within other agencies about the Family Caregiving course


Office of Volunteers

Administrative Workers do data entry, answer phones, mail applications to and take calls from interested volunteers, follow up with interested volunteers, and prepare materials for meetings or presentations
Application Processors check references for and conduct screening interviews with prospective volunteers
Chairman of Volunteers works closely with the Volunteer Resources Manager to help manage and oversee volunteer staff, policies and practices
Committee Members meet quarterly to discuss department-related issues, provide support for recruitment and special events, and plan volunteer recognition events
Recruiters give presentations to educate the community about volunteer needs and opportunities
Special Events Workers represent the Red Cross at health, organizational, and community fairs
Volunteer Liaisons help the Office of Volunteers keep in touch with current and prospective volunteers through phone calls, mailings, etc
